Women's ActivitiesWorks in Progress
Do you like to craft and chat? Bring your "Works In Progress" (WIP) or new project and join with other women to work on those items that have been tucked away in your closet. We encourage quilters, knitters, scrapbookers, and other crafters to join us for a fun time in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM on the 2nd Monday of each month. Bring a sack lunch. Contact Donna Allsup at 715-354-7970 for more information.
Women's Brunch & Outings
The women of HUMC (unaffiliated with the official UMW) have occasional brunches, some just to get together and others with a speaker. This past winter we enjoyed a brunch and visit from Cindy Pearson, who spoke to us of her educational and spiritual work in China. We try to do a fun outing each summer. One year we visited an antique shop in Ladysmith. Other visits have included the glass shop in Oulu, White Winter Winery in Iron River, the Pottery shop in Shell Lake, and the Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts school in Mendota Heights, MN. We welcome new ideas, both for brunches and fun outings.
Secret Angels
Many of the Hayward Methodist women choose to participate as a Secret Angel. Each December, we draw the name of a new Angel. Then the Secret Angel will throughout the year leave small, thoughtful gifts for her Angel at the church - birthday presents, something for Valentines Day, cards for holidays, etc. The following December, we get together for a Christmas lunch and Secret Angels reveal themselves. This is a wonderful way to connect with someone in the church. Please contact Gretchen Semler if you would like to participate
